TAYA Technology for
Wastewater Autonomy
Triple-T’s TAYA is a patented biological wastewater treatment technology for municipal and agricultural applications. It is a hybrid platform that combines the simplicity and operational benefits of extensive systems, with the highly effective treatment capabilities of intensive systems.
Wastewater treatment poses TAYA ECO for municipal applications relieves the significant regulatory and cost challenges. TAYA relieves the burden by dramatically reducing sludge, labor and eco-impact, while providing extraordinary ease of use and peace of mind. This superior technology treats effluent as an asset, enabling huge savings.
TAYA is a reciprocal wastewater treatment technology incorporating the filling and draining of pairs of basins filled with gravel or plastic media, utilizing passive aeration. Using a proprietary pumping array that connects the basins, the wastewater is constantly circulated between the basins, while the first phase of water movement between basins is done by gravitation. Each time a basin is filled, influent ammonia and COD are supplied to the biofilm growing on the media. Once drained, the bacteria in the biofilm is exposed to atmospheric oxygen for nitrification and COD reduction. Nitrate removal occurs while filling the basin. The TAYA passive aeration and the gravitation mode eliminates the need for the high-energy consumption modules used in traditional wastewater treatment technologies.
TAYA enables exceptionally high treatment efficiency, with up to 90% reduction of BOD, COD and Total-N. At the same time, it slashes energy consumption by 80-85% compared with traditional technologies and does not require intensive secondary sludge handling due to gravel cleaning only once every 8-10 years. It also requires less labor and maintenance, thanks to the minimal of electro-mechanical equipment and infrequent onsite visits needed, just once a week!
Simple operation and minimal labor make TAYA the perfect technology for use in agriculture, municipalities and decentralized communities.
MAC Technology
for Safe, Clean Water
Toxsorb’s MAC (Modified Activated Carbon) technology enables exceptionally selective removal of a wide variety of inorganic pollutants from water and wastewater. It achieves non-detect levels, for safe and clean water, enhancing public health and sustainability.
MAC technology introduces selective adsorption that is extremely cost-effective and sustainable, overcoming the limitations of traditional approaches. Its unique way of enabling highly selective removal of pollutants reduces the need to replace filters. Once the activated carbon is modified, the inorganic pollutants are removed, while maintaining the media’s original adsorption capability for organic pollutants. Along with this, MAC dramatically reduces the regenerated brine required to be evacuated, leading to significant cost-savings.
MAC platforms can be regenerated using a simple chemical process that extracts the pollutant from the MAC. This enables the media to be continuously reused, eliminating replacement costs. MAC also acts as a catalyst for the destruction of specific pollutants, such as hexavalent chromium, perchlorate and cyanide-complexed solutions, which enables 100% of the post-regeneration brine to be safely discharged as a non-toxic solution, dramatically reducing haulage costs.
MAC is ideal for transforming groundwater into safe drinking water. It holds NSF 61 approval, as well as recognition from the Israeli and American Health Authorities for removal of chromium and perchlorate from drinking water.
MAC is also extremely effective in industrial wastewater treatment. It frees users from the need to comply with complex regulations as it utilizes Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) wastewater treatment with no discharge into the sewage system. It ensures high water quality, while delivering substantial water savings.
Flow Reversal Technology
for Ultra-High Recovery
ROTEC’s Flow Reversal is a ground-breaking desalination technology that can be implemented in new and existing Reverse Osmosis (RO) desalination plants.
Enabling the most cost-effective solution on the market, it allows a significant increase in product water capacity while maintaining the amount of feed water. Alternatively, it reduces the amount of feed water while maintaining the amount of product water. In all cases, Flow Reversal reduces the capacity of the brine reject.
The principle of Flow Reversal technology is based on periodically changing the flow direction of the saline stream, thus preventing scales from forming on membranes. Additionally, ROTEC developed a patented approach involving block repositioning, in which individual blocks can be repositioned between the stages, so that the blocks of pressure vessels can be switched.
Beyond improving water treatment capacity, this approach also allows less-frequent cleaning in place (CIP). Implementation of ROTEC’s Flow Reversal technology has been proven to increase water production while dramatically reducing brine volume, with up to 20% higher process recovery and up to 60% less brine for disposal. In achieving this, it also minimizes chemical consumption, including reducing or eliminating use of anti-scalant and acid. By allowing cost effective combination of crystallizer systems in front of secondary RO process, Flow Reversal achieves near-Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD). ROTEC’s solutions are available in a variety of applications for a variety of market segments.
AST’s profound know-how of a broad range of best available technologies (BAT) spans proprietary water and wastewater treatment technologies from WFI business units, including Rotec’s Flow Reversal, Triple-T’s TAYA, and ToxSorb’s MAC, as well as leading-edge third-party technologies.
